Mill Race Moto isn’t just another café…
We’re creating an independent destination that brings together artisan baking, specialty coffee and automotive culture in a beautifully designed space just outside Colchester.
By day, we’ll be serving exceptional food and coffee, surrounded by a carefully curated collection of classic cars and motorcycles, regular enthusiast meets, and a welcoming community of people who appreciate craftsmanship, quality and doing things properly.
We’re founded by two hospitality professionals with over 25 years’ experience who also happen to be lifelong car and motorcycle enthusiasts. We’re building the kind of place we’d want to spend our own weekends in.
And at the heart of it all will be a brilliant team of people.
We’re looking for founding Front of House Team Members to join us from the beginning and help create something genuinely special.
The Opportunity
This isn’t a traditional table service role.
Our service style is relaxed, welcoming and informal. You’ll be greeting customers, taking orders at the till, serving drinks and delivering food to tables, keeping everything running smoothly and helping create an atmosphere that people want to return to time and time again.
You’ll be one of the first faces our customers see, and one of the reasons they choose to come back.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
Greeting customers and making everyone feel genuinely welcome
Taking food and drink orders at the till
Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks
Delivering food and beverages to customers’ tables
Maintaining cleanliness and presentation throughout the café
Clearing and resetting tables efficiently
Supporting colleagues across the café and bakery operation
Taking pride in the little details that make great hospitality
About You
You’ll ideally have:
Previous hospitality, café or customer service experience
A friendly, outgoing and positive personality
Excellent communication skills
Great attention to detail and personal standards
Energy and enthusiasm, even during busy periods
Reliability and a strong work ethic
A genuine enjoyment of looking after people
Most importantly, we’re looking for kind, hardworking people who enjoy being around others and want to be part of building something from the very beginning.
